World Record Holder Amusan Cruises to 100m Hurdles Semi-Finals in Paris

Nigerian track star Tobi Amusan wasted no time in her quest for Olympic gold, dominating her heat in the women's 100m hurdles. Despite starting from lane nine, Amusan, the current world record holder, clocked a solid 12.49 seconds, leaving her competitors in the dust (Makingofchamps.com). Finishing second was Alaysha Johnson of the USA with 12.61 seconds, while Jamaica's Janeek Brown secured third place in 12.84 seconds.

This impressive performance secures Amusan's place in the semi-finals. Having made her Olympic debut in Tokyo 2020, Amusan is no stranger to the big stage. In fact, she holds the current world record in the women's 100m hurdles, setting a blistering time of 12.12 seconds at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
