Land of Hope Children Centre, Akwa Ibom managed by Danish aid worker Anja Ringgren Loven and her husband, David Emmanuel, on Saturday, rescued a boy and girl, who were being tortured probably over witchcraft allegation.

"Yesterday David Emmanuel Umem and  Nsidibe Orok and our team in Nigeria went on a rescue. Two lives were saved. The girl and the boy were both taken to the hospital for treatments. They have been beaten and tortured.

The identity of the children are for now being protected by law and safety. The children are now in safe hands at "Land of Hope" Next week they will start school and a new life full of hope, education and happiness will begin. See you soon my children"
